Smokies, Cherokee and Cade's Cove

Hey y'all,

We drove through the Smoky Mountains over to Cherokee and back.  It was beautiful!  The color wasn't at it's peak, but it was still amazing!  I thoroughly enjoyed the ride.  Later that evening, we did Cade's Cove.  It was nice, but not as enjoyable of a ride.

This is in Cherokee.

We got lucky that there were people here to take a picture of all of us at the sign.  I wish he had zoomed in just a little, but hey, beggars can't be choosers, as my mom always said.

Some of the pretty color.

We walked to see an old mill.  Michael snapped our picture on this bridge.  I treasure pictures like this!  Me and my girl.  :)

I love the mountains and I love the color.  I was enjoying myself immensely!

Our gorgeous girl!

Some more color.

This self-portrait says, "I love this guy!  I am so glad he likes driving through the mountains and seeing the colors like I do." and "Boy, am I glad he is willing to stop at all the little places to let me take pictures."

I think the orange trees are my favorite.  And the red ones.  Well, and the yellow ones too. :)

Isn't it just beautiful?  I love it!

This is in Cade's Cove.  It's a nice loop that shows places that were there when it was an actual community.  There is usually a lot of wildlife visible too.

However, everyone was stopping to look at every little thing.  I was like, "Really?"  I knew that it would be slow going, but I had no idea that so many people would want to stop for every little thing, birds, turkeys, trees, etc.

So, we were still at a crawl and now I was like, "Come on!"

Even Colin had had enough!  He took a nap!

We took a cut off road because we could take it anymore!  We were glad we did because we saw this amazing buck.

After seeing the buck, the truck in front of us seemed to be having problems.  They weren't able to travel any faster than 5 mph.  Literally, our GPS was using a decimal point when telling us our speed, we were going that slowly!  It was SO frustrating.  There was a line of cars about a mile long behind us.  This picture shows my feelings for the driver of that truck!

I guess the nap at Cade's Cove gave Colin some ornery energy.  Michael found him like this!  He is so goofy!

So proud of his shower exploration! Ha!

Overall, it was a great day!  We would have done it all again.  (Some we did!)

Until next time...
