Hey y'all,
Last week, I had wanted to take the kids outside and paint a drawing of themselves. I have already traced their bodies onto cardboard. (We used sides from the TV box.) However, it rained! :( So, rather than do nothing, I decided to get out the Christmas ornament project for this year. The kids made candy cane ornaments and Molly and I made a "make and bake" candy cane ornament. They had fun making them and hopefully we can paint in the near future. We already have our Christmas decorations up. We usually decorate Thanksgiving weekend, but this year we'll be at the beach. We wanted to go ahead and get them up so they will be all set when we get home. Also, we are having a Christmas party at our house for people that Michael works with at the hospital. We need to be ready for that. One interesting thing to note... this year, we put up lights outside! I am actually really pleased with how it turned out, and the kids are thrilled! They love the lights! On top of all this excitement, we were given a dining room table! A lady from church replaced her dining room furniture so it matched with her living room furniture. She offered the table and she and her husband brought it over this morning. It is beautiful. It is oak and can expand to seat eight people. I feel so blessed to receive this gift! It is in super condition. It's not even five years old!
Colin did a fantastic job stringing the beads on the pipe cleaner. I was really proud of him. He made his all by himself! And, it is beautiful!
Molly actually made two of these ornaments. The kit made four, so I made one to show them how to do it, Molly made two and Colin made one. The first one Molly did was the "correct" way, as the instructions directed. The second one she made, she created her own pattern. She and Michael like that one the best.
Working hard
No Colin, you can't eat these candy canes! I DO feed this child!!
Colin's, mine, and Molly's first one
Molly checking out the new decorating. We put the tree up after they went to bed, so she saw it when she got up at oh... 5:30 the next morning. She ran into our room and told Michael the decorations were up. So cute... like we didn't know!!
When Colin got up, at the normal hour of 7:00, he excitedly checked everything out with Molly.
Molly was so proud of the window clings she and Colin put up.
Our outside lights
And, Snow White and pant-less Buckeye, checking them out!
This has nothing to do with Christmas, but we went to Sam's yesterday to get a few things and the kids both had hot dogs. I thought this was too hilarious not to post!
And, of course, to be fair, I have included one with Molly in it too. ;)
Here it is... our beautiful new table. Isn't it gorgeous? This is with the leaf in. I will take it out after Michael sees it this evening. I love it!
Until next time...
