Hey y'all,
We have been a bit under the weather this week, so once we all started feeling better we were itching to get outside. One problem... rain! I was thrilled for rain because we needed it so badly, but it meant we couldn't play outside. Or did it? ;)
I stood at the window and told the kids that I loved a rainy day and they looked at me like I was crazy. Then, I got even crazier looks when I asked, "Who wants to go out and play in the rain?" Colin was on board quickly. Molly wasn't so sure. Eventually, we got changed into rain playing clothes and headed outside.
Colin was pretty excited. It's funny how fun it can be to do something that isn't quite right!
Molly wasn't sure, but it wasn't raining as hard when we got outside, so she accepted it and eventually got into it.
Colin was looking for puddles to splash in.
Having fun!
She really got in to it!
At this point, we had to come inside due to lightening. It was a bit disappointing because we really didn't even get that wet. We held out hope that we would be able to go back out if the lightening stopped.
On our second try, it was raining harder and we really had a lot of fun. We even went down into the court to an area that "floods" with water. We did a little puddle jumping.
Colin found the down spout and realized that there was a constant flow of water there. He had fun splashing there.
He's such a silly head!
It was raining so hard, I couldn't see through my glasses. I tried to see without them, but it really wasn't much better. I am so blind!!
Splash Splash Splash
I explained gutters and down spout to Colin and he was a bit mesmerized. :)
Happy kids on our way back inside.
My glasses even fogged up! Happy faces though!
Such fun!
I can't wait to scrapbook these pictures!! I am so glad we all loosened up and had all this fun on a whim!
Until next time...

My kids would be so jealous to know about this! We've never attempted this activity, but it looks so fun, I'll have to try it soon:)
