Molly's Kindergarten Graduation

Hey y'all,

Molly graduated from Kindergarten yesterday.  (Never mind that we have been done with school since the end of March!)  One of the other kindergarten moms in our homeschool group decided that we should have one and started planning it.  It was a small affair without too much ceremony, but it was cute, fun and made for great pictures!!

Our big girl

We had a rehearsal right before the actual graduation.  Many of us had never met before.  It was a great way for us to meet other kids and parents that we will be going through school with the next several years.

She's too cute!  The caps and gowns, though not necessary, were incredibly cute!

The graduation was held at one of the other student's church.

It was hot, but we wanted a few outside pictures too.

I think she was really proud.  She so excited to graduate.  She talked about it all day!

Molly's "class"

Can you see the nerves that are starting to build?

Singing "This Little Light of Mine."

Waving her little light.

To say that she was tight lipped (as the picture shows) would be an understatement!  As more and more family member of the other students arrived, Molly got more and more nervous.  She was supposed to tell her name and age and share a Bible verse.  That didn't happen.  She froze, started to cry and told me to do it.  Poor thing.  We are going to have to work on coping in situations like this.  Maybe we will look into acting classes... :)

Each of the parents gave their child the diploma.

So proud of our girl!

The pastor of the church we used shared a few verses and gave all the children a rock.  I think it was to remind them that God is our rock, as indicated by the verses he read, but things got a little chaotic during this time.

She is so ready for this to be over.  She was hot and uncomfortable being up on stage.

This was so fun!  We took the kids outside and had them throw their caps in the air.  They thought it was great fun!

It was a fun night.  I am thankful for the chance to meet other parents and students.  It made for great pictures too.  (Always a plus with me!!!)  Bring on 1st grade!!

Until next time...
