You may have noticed that I have tried to do a better job of documenting our lives. (I had received a few complaints...) Well, unfortunately, as a result, I have had to play catch up on the blog today. I wanted to be able to go ahead and share about our first day of school. So, da-da-da-da... here it is... the first day of homeschool...
We started by having "quite time" in our rooms. Then, we all shared about what we prayed or read about. Molly, using her new Bible, read about the guards nailing Jesus to the cross and how He had to carry His own cross. Here she was looking for that part, so she could read it to us. She loves her new Bible and loves reading it herself.
We think Colin was more excited about school starting than even Molly! He was up before 6:00 this morning, ready to start.
Our first week, we will be learning about God's Creation. We are making a poster of the numbers 1-7, one for each day. Each one has pictures on it to help tell the order of creation.
We practiced writing the letters a and b, too.
Molly has had a bit more practice. :)
We made a sign for our first day. Molly did most of the writing, Colin was our "space holder." He really didn't want to get his picture taken. He was getting bored, I think. However, he wasn't willing to go play because he didn't want to miss any of our school!
Molly is writing in her journal. Here she drew a picture about how she had her quiet time this morning on her bed. She wrote a sentence to go with her picture. It said, "Taday I was in my room reading my Bible" Pretty good, huh?
Well, we are all caught up now. I will try to remember to do more school updates along with our regular updates. I think homeschool is going to suit us well.
Until next time...
