Trip to the Moon

Hey y'all,

This week our theme for school is the moon.  And, today, we took a trip to the moon.  It's okay, we were prepared.  Yesterday we made space helmets and today before we left, we made a list of everything we would need on a trip to the moon.  We made our space ship, which unfortunately requires a lot of imagination.  (A refrigerator box would have been awesome!)  We had a count down and blasted off!

Introducing Astronaut Molly

A better view of her space helmet.

Colin's space helmet - can you tell he got bored with creating before Molly did? ;)

Introducing Astronaut Colin

Getting ready to board the space ship.  Colin wasn't so sure he wanted to go at this point.  (Bless his heart, I am not sure he knew it was just pretend!)

Here our astronauts are out of the space ship, exploring the moon.  Note, they have their space helmets on and though you can't see them, their space shoes.

Astronaut Molly was very excited to re-board our ship and tell me what she saw on the moon.

It really was a lot of fun.  I am so thankful every day that we are homeschooling.  What fun memories we will have!  Not to mention, they really are learning a lot!

This is a video of our count down to blast off.  I tried to upload a video of them reporting on what they saw on the moon, but I think it is too big.  :(

I think our mission was a success!  Fun times!

Until next time....
