Savannah

Hey y'all,

After the conference in Charleston, we headed down to Savannah, GA for a night.  We have wanted to go there for a while and decided we should do it while we were so close.  I really liked it there.  It was open and friendly and beautiful.  There weren't as many old buildings, but the squares were nice and there was a very old cemetery that was neat to walk through.  The last person to be buried there died in the 1850's!  We did a bit more walking around.  We ate at The Lady and Sons, Paula Deen's restaurant.  We visited another fort.  And, we got to walk on the beach at Tybee Island.  It was quite a bit nicer than our walk on the beach in Charleston!!

I took a ton of pictures of Molly while in Savannah.  She was in a good mood and being silly.

I think she is so pretty in red!

Posing

Dancing on the square.

Silly girl!

Love his look in this one!

Molly's bed - Colin's race car!  He is so funny!  He was having a Nascar race!

That dark spot in the middle is an alligator.

This is a Catholic church.  I thought it was beautiful!

All the alligators at The Crab Shack.  This is where we had lunch on Sat.

Colin watching the gators.  He rather liked them.

Molly posing with the big gator.

They had a lot of exotic birds at the restaurant.  They kind of scared Molly, but Colin thought they were hilarious!  He still talks about how the birds talked to him.

On the beach at Tybee Island.

The Tybee Island lighthouse.

Fort Pulaski

There was a battle here during the Civil War.  When built, they thought this fort could withstand anything.  Not so much.... as you can see.

We had a really nice time in Savannah.  I think it is a place that we would definitely like to visit again.

Until next time...
