Michael had a conference in Charleston last week. The kids and I tagged along. We got to do a lot of fun things. The kids and I walked and walked and walked.... They were SO good. We all had a great time.
Our first day there, we explored and found ourselves at Folly Beach. The kids were so excited to walk on the beach.
Until we got out there! It was so windy and cold. We didn't last long. You can see on their faces how uncomfortable they were.
We had the opportunity to visit Fort Sumter. As history fanatics, Michael and I were excited to go.
Colin was excited to ride on a boat.
He thought the canons were so cool.
It was really cool to "see" history. I have to admit though, that it was a bit anticlimatic for me. I had built it up so much, that it was a bit of a let down. Still cool, though.
One day, the kids and I walked down to the Children's Museum of the Lowcountry. It was very small, but the kids had a great time. They got to paint pictures.
They got to paint a train, which they thought was amazingly cool.
There was a giant chalkboard for the kids to water paint on.
Pirate Molly, sailing the pirate ship.
This was probably my favorite part. They had a Publix grocery store set up. The kids shopped and were even able to check out the items. There was a real scanner and cash register too. So fun!
Here's Molly shopping.
This rock was the perfect seat. Colin sat on it, but before I could get the camera on, he was up. Molly of course wanted to give it a try, but Colin didn't want to miss out on getting in a picture, so he sat in her lap. Priceless!
Playing at Battery Park.
Sitting on a tree in Battery Park.
So handsome and stylish! :)
Climbing canon balls at Battery Park.
We did a TON of walking. Colin tired out many times. He was so funny though. He would stop and tell me that his feet were stuck. Here he is with his foot stuck. Such a funny little guy!
As you can see, we had a wonderful time in Charleston!
Until next time...
