Hey all,
This past Saturday the weather was nice, sunny and warmer, so we decided to check out a state park not too far from us. We headed to Mt Cheaha State Park. It was beautiful and we can't wait to go back in all the different seasons. The kids enjoyed the short walk we took. Also they enjoyed "exploring" with me off the path. We checked out the highest point in Alabama and we tried to play at the playground, but, well, there weren't any bathrooms nearby so we had to leave. All in all, we had a great day and can't wait to go back. Please enjoy a few of our pictures.

Here we are at the head of the trail. We are still pretty limited by the stroller, but we were pleased that there were "accessible" trails.

At the end of the trail, we were greeted with an amazing view. We could see for miles. It was so peaceful and beautiful up there.

This was at the top of the trail. Molly was a bit nervous to be standing on the bench. I think she thought she might fall over the side!

There were places we could go off the boardwalk. There were lots of large boulders, so we climbed a few. They made for great photo ops! :)

Here is Colin exploring off the beaten path. He was all over this -- ready to go everywhere, just like his mommy. Molly needed a bit more convincing, but once she saw that we were safe and having fun, she was in.

One of our rock poses. Molly actually climbed a big one for this picture.

It does my heart good to see the kids running and having a good time outside like this! They were giggling and cheering and having a blast!

This is the path to the playground. They could hardly contain themselves! But, a crushing blow would soon fall...

This was the lake. The whole park was beautiful. We really can't wait to see what it will look like in other seasons.

This was it. Literally, this was about all Molly did before she had to use the potty. We went on a wild goose chase to find an open potty. Alas, we had to drive several miles up the road to get to one. Playing was not in the cards for the kids today. Tell me though, does it make sense to have a great playground without a potty nearby? Who uses playgrounds? And, who has trouble "holding it?" Yes, kids is the answer to both of those questions! Oh well...
We are looking forward to heading home to Ohio in just two days. The kids are THRILLED to be flying. It's all they talk about. Molly says, "Ohio," and Colin replies with, "Delta!"
Until next time...

Haven't you taught her how to use nature's potty? Were there some trees nearby? Trust me, it can be done. Rachael had to go potty at dad's house once and he wasn't there yet. So we went to the back yard...she didn't tell me she had to do #2! We ended up using Tulip leaves to wipe (after many failed attempts with other foilage). You can do it!
Jill, that's just gross. We are civilized people in this family! ;)
