Independence Day

Hey y'all,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend celebrating our nation's independence.  On the 4th, I took the opportunity to have a mini-photo shoot with the kids.  Colin wasn't all that cooperative.  He was hot! (Read that with whine in mind!)  Molly, ever the poser, did well.  The kids played with poppers.  Later that night, we let off a few "fireworks" and lit sparklers.  Colin called them sprinklers!!  Our sparklers were duds, but it was still great fun.

Did I mention that he wasn't all that cooperative?  The turkey!!

Pretty and patriotic!

I hope I don't bore you, but I got several really great pictures of Molly.

Finally, Colin smiled.

Throwing poppers.

Colin thought it was hilarious to throw them at us and have them pop at our feet.

As you can see, he really loved it...  I love the glee I see in this picture.

Love this girl!

"...forever in peace may you wave."

***These next few are for Aunt Kelly...

Molly and Aunt Kelly love to make silly faces and have their pictures taken.

They are too cute!

This one is my favorite!

We had an All-American dinner.  Yum!

And a patriotic dessert.  It was brownies with cool whip on top and of course, the fruit.  It was a big hit!

This was really the extent of our sparklers.  Blah!

It was mostly just fire on a stick with a few occasional sparks.  So disappointing.  Well, for Michael and me... the kids didn't seem to care!

Molly and her flame.

We got a few "fireworks."  Nothing big.  We were afraid to set our trees on fire!!  These were a big hit.

This was one of the better sparklers.  I love how happy Molly is in this picture.  It's the little things in life...

We had a super Independence Day!  I just hope we find better sparklers next year!

Until next time...
