I am a little slow in posting these snow pictures, but here they are... We got a decent amount of snow (for Alabama) the week of January 9th. The big snow started Sunday evening, but we actually got more snow two other days that week! The weirdest part was how long it lasted! We had snow on the ground for a whole week! Of course, the kids had fun. It wasn't the greatest snow. It was very icy, but they didn't seem to mind.
And so it begins...
This didn't seem too bad, but...
it came heavier...
and heavier as the evening progressed.
The next morning. I know it's not a lot to those of us who grew up in the north, but it was quite a bit for here in Alabama.
From our front door
Michael pulled out the ole shovel.
I don't know how well you can see it, but the ice on the trees was so pretty!
I love this picture!!
The pine needles were frozen.
My pretty girl
My goofy boy
Ahh, the snowball, er globs fight...
Not sure Colin was prepared...
for the onslaught from Molly!
He gave it right back though.
And was ready to send more her way!
Rosy cheeks
He is such a nut!! But, here are his rosy cheeks too.
The next day, it started to melt.
But, this was what it still looked like on Friday!! I couldn't believe that it stayed cold enough for the snow to last this long!
We moved to Alabama thinking that we would rarely see snow and that Michael would never have to shovel again. How wrong we were! It has snowed every winter we have been here and several times this winter. Also, (though he probably didn't have to) Michael shovelled the driveway. In Alabama!!
Until next time...
