Elephants

Hey y'all,

We took the month of December off from school, so we were excited to get things going again the first week of January.  Our first week back we studied elephants.  We had so much fun.  We thought it would be great to share a few of our projects with you.

We made elephants out of canned biscuits.  Fun and yummy!

Raisins for the eyes.

Into the oven, after getting a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar.

A finished elephant.

Enjoying them.

I'd say she is enjoying it!!

We also made elephant ears.  This was a simple version using tortillas.  This one wasn't as fun.  I had to do most of the work due to frying them.  I thought they would be able to do the sprinkling, but they were too hot to handle.  They enjoyed eating them though.

I am so proud of Colin!  He works so hard in school and has really made progress in leaps and bounds!  He colored and cut this out by himself.  Just a few months ago, he was really struggling with just holding the scissors correctly, let alone working them properly.  Also, he wrote his name by himself, with the exception of the 'n,' I had to help with that one.

Molly is a budding artist!  She went colorful on this project!  I also love that she took the time to draw a scene behind her elephant.

Elephants are fun!

Until next time...
