I did quite a bit of baking this year. Michael invitied people from work over for a Christmas party, and I had plans to make cookie/ candy plates as gifts for a few people, so I knew I would need more than usual. I enlisted some help (very willing help!) on a few of the batches. I made sure to capture this experience! They had so much fun helping, I didn't even mind the clean up! However, I must say... they did a fabulous job! They were very neat, and very helpful. Oh, and I might note... the cookies were delicious!
Molly's job was to roll the cookie balls into the colored sugar.
She was very precise.
Colin was watching the cookies bake in the oven. "His" green cookies were in at this time.
He was pretty excited about being able to help!
Colin's job was to "smash" the cookies flat.
He caught on quickly!! ;)
Some of them got a bit too flat, but hey, some people like chewy cookies, some people like crisp ones. He was just thinking of everyone. :)
Molly got to help with the Buckeyes too. I made quite a few of these because they are pretty popular even with those who don't really know what they are. People asked if I was going to make the peanut butter balls. I decided it was my duty to educate people on the great Buckeyes.
She really was a huge help. I could have been rolling balls for an hour! She was very happy to help, so we both won.
I wish we could have shared some of the cookies with all of you! I think we discovered a few new favorites this year as well as mantained several old favorites.
Until next time...
