Easter

Hey y'all,

Easter Day was a lot of fun here in Alabama!  The kids woke up excited to get their Easter baskets.  They understood that we were not celebrating gifts or candy or eggs or hunts, but the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  The dressed up beautifully and handsomely in their Easter best.  We had a wonderful church service.  Then, we came home and had our own little Easter egg hunt, with a twist this year.  After that, we headed out to the Easter Egg Drop our church organized.  All in all, we had a lot of fun and were very tired even before the day was half over!

Anxiously awaiting their baskets.

Looks good!

Ready for church

Ready for our hunt.

On the hunt

Counting her eggs (before they hatched!!) ;)

We asked Colin, "Colin, did we get mail?"  He said, "No! Umm, YEAH!"  He catches on quick!!

On the go

Found one!

Ahh, the twist... there was one empty egg.  The person to find the empty egg got a special prize.  The best part about this is that Molly got right away why there was an empty one!  It thrills my soul that they are learning so much about the Bible!  There was one empty egg because the tomb was empty on Easter morning.  Our special gift on Easter a risen Christ.  Empty tomb = gift for all who believe; empty egg = gift for finder.  It was a simple way for me to reinforce the true meaning of Easter.  Colin was the lucky winner this year.  It was hidden quite well, but he is a clever one, I tell you!

He was pretty excited about getting a special prize.

A book.... The Story of Jesus.  (See, Momma is kind of smart sometimes... if Molly found the egg, she could read the book to Colin.  If Colin found the egg, Molly could read the book to Colin.  Get it?  It was really a gift for both of them!!!)
Waiting for the church Egg Drop.  This is our friend Julia.  She and Colin were born on the same exact day!!

There were SO many eggs!

See?

This is our friend Ava.

Ahh, a family pic.  So rare...

I took Easter pictures this year at the Birmingham Botanitcal Gardens.  The above link will take you to a few of my favorites.  The grandmas will be getting a special Easter collage.  :)  I hope you enjoy them.

Until next time...
