Hey all,
I thought that you might like to see our little patient and her new cast (or cactus, as she calls it!). She is doing well. She is VERY compliant and doing everything she is supposed to do today. She doesn't even seem to be in any pain today, though the doctor told us to keep her loaded with Motrin the next couple of days to control the swelling, so that helps. She is mostly just enjoying the extra TV that she is allowed to watch! There isn't much else she can do, though you will note in one picture, we are trying...

This was just before her surgery, you can see on her face that she is very uncomfortable and a little out of it. She hadn't had any pain meds at this point, but she was spent. The splint really helped. Once it was stablized, I could tell it wasn't as painful.

This was after a pretty decent nights sleep. She was still a little "loopy" from all the meds, but she really did super.

Here she is with her pretty pink "cactus", keeping it elevated as she is supposed to, proud of her puzzle. This one has 100 pieces, so she should be proud! We are planning to work in a lot of activities such as this to keep boredom at a minium the next three weeks.

Here, you can see she is back to her silly self by the end of the day! She kept making funny faces at me as I was trying to get a few pictures. (Yes, it could have been the Lortab, but we weren't convinced! She is normally pretty silly!!!) :)
Until next time...
